Hello

A GCC “Family Meeting” was held Sunday the 17th with over 100 people in attendance. Pastor Jon told the group that, at the request of the Elder Team,  he is resigning his pastoral position effective immediately. He expressed his appreciation for his time at Grace and acknowledged personal issues that limited his effectiveness as a Senior pastor.  He indicated his desire to continue to attend Grace with his family and called for unity.  Following this, an elder read a statement outlining the events that led to the decision to ask for his resignation and pledged generous financial support for his family during this time of transition. There was a question-and-answer period where questions were answered about future plans for the pastoral staff, concerns about how the decision was made, and affirmation for Pastor Jon’s time of service at Grace. The meeting ended with a laying on of hands of Pastor Jon and prayer.  Please pray for Pastor Jon and his family, the church and for the Elders in this time of transition.
