YOUTH

about Lighthouse

Lighthouse Youth Ministry exists to "passionately pursue Christ and point people to Him through a student lead and adult supported ministry."

Our theme verse is Matthew 5:14 - "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."

Our youth ministry meets year round and is for all Middle & High School students (grades 6-12).

* We meet every Wednesday night from 7:00-8:30 pm at Grace Community Church in the Chapel.

* We also offer Teen Bible Fellowships on every Sunday morning during the 9:30 am service hour - these will run through the end of the school year and will take the summer off

* Be sure to check out the announcements page for all the upcoming events.

We named our youth ministry "Lighthouse" because a lighthouse gives a powerful light and shows the way to safety for the lost. They are usually found in high places for all to see. In the same way our ministry here is for the same purpose. We exist to shine the light of Jesus to all of the greater Frederick area. If you've ever looked out over the city of Frederick from our youth room window, you'll see a beautiful sight and understand why God has place us where He has. Since our church sits on the side of Braddock Mountain, we can be a "lighthouse" for the Frederick area and give a powerful light to show the way to safety for the lost.

NEW THEME: Our theme for the 2012-2013 school year is “Pray" based several key verses: Ephesians 3:20 & 1 Thessalonians 5:17. This year we’ll be focusing on how prayer works, how it impacts and affects our lives and how we can see the results of prayer. We will also be challenging the students to keep a prayer journal throughout the year, get a prayer calendar magnet, write on our prayer wall in the Chapel and/or submit prayer requests right HERE on our website. You won’t want to miss anything this year – so make sure that you stay up to date by using the Wednesday Night page to stay current on the weeks you’ve missed!
